Finding trout on deep sea grass beds
During the spring, trout are often in multiple phases of their spawn, and can be caught using artificial lures and live bait in a wide variety of depths. Often times fish will hang in deeper water, offering a more consistent bite throughout the day. Imitating a croaker or using live bait is key. Focus on pockets of sand in and around deep water grass beds. It is useful to use a longer anchor line, which allows you to gradually move into new water without disturbing fish that are just out of casting distance!
