Salmon Teriyaki Recipe

9/21/2016

Not only are salmon fun to catch; they also make for a delicious, healthy dinner! Here is a way to cook salmon that will leave your guests impressed.
Ingredients
SERVINGS: 4
  • ½ cup sake
  • ¼ cup mirin (sweet Japanese rice wine)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, plus more if needed
  • 4 six-ounce, skin-on, boneless salmon fillets (about 1-inch thick)
  • Kosher salt

Preparation
Mix sake, mirin, and soy sauce into a small bowl (this is the teriyaki sauce). Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat (add more more oil if needed). Salt salmon, and cook it skin-side down for about 4 minutes; then cook other side until meat begins to brown.

Remove fish from the skillet and pour 2/3 of the teriyaki sauce into pan. Heat until it begins to boil. Add salmon fillets skin-side up and pour the remaining 1/3 sauce over the top of fillets. Cook for 2 minutes and your teriyaki salmon is ready to eat!
