Shaking the shaky head just right

11/9/2016

Most anglers have a love/hate relationship with the shaky head. Even though it’s time-consuming to fish, the shaky head is loved because it is effective! There are 3 ways to fish a shaky head: drag it, hop it or shake it. Dragging is used on points and ledges to find active schools of fish, while the hopping retrieve is used once you find active schools to show them a different presentation—do not be too aggressive with your hops; nice subtle movements will garner more bites. Shaking the bait is the ideal retrieve when fish are sluggish. Quivering the bait in front of a fish will provoke a bite. Jackall Flick Shake worms shine for this application––the super-soft plastic creates more action than ordinary worms.
