Throwback Thursday: Shimano acquires G. Loomis

​When owner Gary Loomis decided it was time to sell his G. Loomis rod company, Shimano Fishing Tackle was his first choice for buyer. Loomis believed that Shimano made the finest products in fishing and would sustain the G. Loomis legacy of quality. The company sold in 1997, and G. Loomis rods are still the finest hand-made rods in America.
