Inshore fishing in March
During winter months, try inshore fishing to chase down large schools of redfish and sea trout. Many redfish schools numbering in the hundreds will be inshore. Being stealthy while sight-fishing is the key to catching more fish. Instead of running the trolling motor, make use of your push pole to move through the water undetected by fish and to stay in casting range of fish. To accurately cast long distances to active school, be sure to spool up your reel with PowerPro braided line—the thinner diameter braid will help you reach distances not possible with monofilament line. To provoke schooling fish into biting, cast heavy spoons and large topwaters from long distances to avoid spooking fish.
