During the fall, when the baitfish are flushed out into the bay, it is primetime to catch big redfish. Depending on winds and weather, you can find fish near the surface chasing bait. Light north winds push baitfish to the surface, and during these times you can find redfish busting on baitfish. Be sure to watch the birds, they will point you in the right direction. Key baits to use are large top-waters to replicate the baitfish busting at the surface and soft plastics under a popping cork.
