WACKY RIGGING FOR BASS
When most people think of summer bass fishing they think of deep structure, but bass can be caught in the skinniest of shallow water throughout the summer. One technique that excels in the shallows is the wacky rig on the lightest jighead you can get away with. For this technique, try a Jackall Flick Shake, which is made to be fished slowly through the water with a twitch-and-fall retrieve. Most strikes will come on the fall. The Flick Shake is made with a very flexible plastic impregnated with salt, and has a curved design that causes the tail ends of the worm to “squirm” on the fall. The irresistible shaking action is imparted from the slightest rod twitch.Recommended colors based on water clarity:
Clear: Green Pumpkin Pepper, Pumpkin Pepper, Watermelon Pepper, Watermelon Red
Muddy: Bluegill, Camo, June Bug
Stained: Green Pumpkin Candy, Watermelon Candy, Cola
